Mechanical Engineer (Spacecraft)

You will work with cross-functional engineering teams and have cradle-to-grave ownership of primary/secondary structure and critical space mechanisms. • Design, build, test/analysis, and integration of hardware for spacecraft, with cradle-to-grave ownership of primary/secondary structure and critical space mechanisms.
• Establish driving loads and develop efficient structural design using first principles, perform and document analysis to support design intent.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure adjacent designs are accounting for and supporting hardware assumptions.

• 2+ years of demonstrated experience in mechanical design
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively across different teams
• Demonstrated ability to model complex shapes including lofting and surfacing
• Demonstrated ability in conceptual design, fabrication and testing of hardware
• Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software with ability to learn new tools
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
• Ability to communicate technical challenges, explain rationale and/or resolve concerns
• Masters' degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• 3+ years' of demonstrated mechanical design & analysis with space-flown hardware
• 5+ years' of demonstrated understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
• 5+ years' of demonstrated experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Capable of performing basic structural and thermal analysis in support of design
