Engineering Manager (Patient Experience)

Join Ro, a healthcare technology company, as an Engineering Manager on the Patient Experience team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering execution and direction for a highly visible product area that supports millions of patients in their treatment journey. You will work closely with Product, Design, Data, and engineering teams to turn complex patient needs into intuitive experiences. You will also shape the strategy and evolution of AI-enabled patient experiences across Ro and stay close to execution by coaching and developing engineers.

• This role is well suited to someone who is comfortable creating clarity amid ambiguity, navigating a range of stakeholder perspectives, and taking ownership beyond the traditional boundaries of engineering management
• Experience driving work across teams and systems you don’t directly control, using influence and sound judgment to move complex initiatives forward
• Strong product and UX instincts and a desire to build experiences that make complex underlying systems feel simple and intuitive to users
• A track record of operating effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and creating clarity and momentum without waiting for every dependency or decision to be resolved
• A data-driven approach to product development, with experience defining success measures, using data to evaluate impact, and iterating based on what you learn
• Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills, including experience aligning stakeholders with different perspectives and priorities
• Demonstrated ownership of meaningful consumer-facing products or experiences, with the ability to connect engineering decisions to customer and business outcomes
• Technical fluency with React and TypeScript, along with experience working with Python or similar backend technologies
• Experience leading and developing high-performing engineering teams, with a track record of coaching engineers, setting clear expectations, and creating an environment where teams can do their best work
• Technical depth and judgment that allow you to engage meaningfully in architecture and implementation decisions, challenge assumptions, and effectively support senior engineers
