Corporate Controller

Join Ottimate, a fast-paced, high-growth technology company, as the Corporate Controller. In this role, you will own the accounting operations, deliver accurate financial statements, and build the necessary controls and processes for the company's growth. You will work closely with FP&A, Payments, and Senior Leadership to provide insights that support decision-making. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day accounting operations, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors, overseeing compliance, managing cash flow forecasting, and leading the accounting team.

• Own day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and payroll accounting.
• Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors, driving timely completion of the annual GAAP audit and related compliance.
• Build and maintain internal controls and financial policies, overseeing entity compliance, state registrations, registered agents, and insurance renewals.

• Accounts Payable Expertise: Hands-on experience leading AP operations; experience selecting or implementing AP automation platforms is a plus
• Ownership & Judgment: Proactive in improving the department and overall company (i.e., doesn’t just do what they are asked to do). Detail-oriented and comfortable balancing precision with practicality. Takes ownership of the numbers rather than relying on third-party data at face value

• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, hold stakeholder accountable, and communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
• Systems & Automation: Experience implementing and optimizing finance systems (ERP, close management, spend management) and a demonstrated appetite to adopt AI and automation
• Technical Accounting: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606. SaaS, payments, or FinTech experience preferred
• Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA strongly preferred
• Audit Expertise: Track record of managing external audits efficiently and serving as the primary auditor liaison. Due diligence or quality-of-earnings experience is a plus
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including proven experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller at a standalone company (not only at a divisional level)
