Mechanical Engineer

Join Xcimer, a pioneering company in the field of inertial fusion energy. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be instrumental in the design, analysis, and operation of critical mechanical systems for our excimer-laser-based technology. You will work across the full product lifecycle, from early prototypes to the demonstration of a power-producing inertial fusion reactor. Your responsibilities will include creating 3D models, designing structures and pressure vessels, supporting procurement, overseeing assembly, and contributing to ongoing operations. You will also participate in concept studies and contribute to documentation and engineering processes.

• Contribuer à la conception, à l'analyse, à la construction et au fonctionnement de systèmes mécaniques liés à la technologie IFE basée sur le laser excimer.
• Créer des modèles 3D, des dessins de pièces détaillés, des assemblages et des documents de contrôle d'interface.
• Participer à l'assemblage, à l'intégration et à l'exploitation de l'équipement et des systèmes concernés.

• Experience getting design projects over the finish line, built, and qualified
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (NX preferred)
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee of granted asylum
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and testing
• Interdisciplinary engineering experience is a plus
• Experience: 3-5 years in mechanical engineering, with a focus on industrial equipment design (preferred industries include semiconductor, solar, R+D, nuclear, fusion energy, lasers, defense)
• Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Nuclear, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
• Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Start-up experience preferred
