Job Description

Join our team as a Research Engineer specializing in Content Understanding. In this role, you will work on various projects aimed at improving the quality of web content and search results. You will be responsible for tasks such as enhancing parsing capabilities, developing models to assess page quality, addressing issues of credibility and misinformation, and deduplicating web content. You should have a strong background in machine learning, experience with large-scale datasets, and the ability to work on problems without a defined ground truth.

  • Develop and implement algorithms for parsing web pages and improving content understanding.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and supervise models for judging page quality and credibility.
  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of models and algorithms, and iterate based on results.
  • You care about the problem of finding high quality knowledge and recognize how important this is for the world
  • You like building large-scale datasets and living in the data. Most of the wins here are in the supervision rather than the architecture
  • You can build a transformer from scratch in PyTorch, and you have trained models that then had to be cheap enough to run everywhere
  • Graduate-level ML experience (Master’s or PhD with at least 2 years of relevant experience), or an exceptionally strong undergrad
  • You are comfortable with problems where the ground truth does not exist yet and defining it is part of the job
