Director of Product Design

Join our team as the Director of Product Design, where you will lead our design team and shape the user experience of our platform. You will set the experience vision, define interaction patterns, and lead a talented team of designers. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong background in product design, experience with complex enterprise software, and a passion for user-centered design.

• Lead and manage the design team, setting the experience vision for the platform and defining interaction patterns.
• Own the end-to-end product design experience across multiple products, ensuring a cohesive and user-friendly experience.
• Partner with product management and engineering to shape problem definitions and scope, and drive the experience work behind platform migration.

• 10+ years in product design, including 4+ years leading and developing designers, with a portfolio of shipped work you can walk through end to end
• An exceptional communicator and influencer. You can tell a room of executives something they do not want to hear, ground it in the customer’s reality, and leave with a decision
• A people leader first. You develop designers, give direct feedback, and build a team that does its best work
• You have designed AI-powered or agentic product experiences and have a real point of view on trust, transparency, control, and what happens when the model is wrong
• Experienced with complex, expert-user enterprise software — tools where the user is a professional doing demanding work, not a consumer. Security, IT operations, observability, data infrastructure, or similar domains
• You have set an experience vision for a complex product and then delivered against it — not just a concept deck, but patterns and surfaces that shipped and held up
• You operate with urgency and judgment in a fast-moving environment, and you are comfortable making progress before every input is in hand
• You value and use research. You know how to run the function, ask the right questions of it, and act on what comes back
• Located in the US (SF Bay Area preferred)
• Strong systems thinker: you can hold a platform-level information architecture in your head, and you build design systems that make teams faster instead of slowing them down
• Led design through a major platform migration or the consolidation of several products into one
• Worked in cybersecurity, or designed for security operations, insider risk, or data protection teams
• Experience building a design function hiring, leveling, process, and the operating rhythm not just running one that already existed
