Product Manager

Join Clair, an embedded fintech company, as a Product Manager. You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of our products, working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. You'll collaborate with various teams, balance user needs with business requirements, and advocate for your product strategy. • Identifying, evaluating, and helping define opportunities for new Clair products and experiences, often before the problem or solution is fully understood.
• Defining and executing product strategy and roadmaps in ambiguous, fast-moving environments, and partnering closely with engineering and design to move quickly from concept to experiment to product.
• Developing a deep understanding of Clair users through feedback, behavioral data, research, and direct conversations—and pushing for new ways to learn when existing data isn't enough.

• We're looking for a builder who is comfortable with gray areas, thinks outside the box, and isn't afraid to try something that might not work
• You know how to move quickly without being reckless and understand that failing fast is only valuable if you're learning fast, too
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity; you can create clarity and momentum without needing every decision, process, or path defined for you
• Deep empathy for how Americans use financial products and an interest in how financial products can meaningfully impact people's lives and financial wellbeing
• Comfort working with engineers, data teams, and technical systems—even if you're not the most technical person in the room
• 3+ years of product management experience, ideally with experience building new products or features from the ground up
• Understanding of or curiosity about lending systems, underwriting, payments, risk management, or other financial infrastructure is highly preferred
• A startup mindset: resourceful, adaptable, practical, and energized by building something that doesn't already exist
• Strong product instincts paired with a willingness to test those instincts quickly and learn when you're wrong. You should be able to express and extol a strong sense of how you want a product to be before it exists
• Experience working in consumer fintech, neobanking, financial services, or another complex and regulated industry is preferred
• Comfort advocating for a product strategy or roadmap, including upward with senior leadership
• Strong data fluency and experience using quantitative and qualitative insights to inform product decisions
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability—you see problems through rather than waiting for someone else to solve them
• Experience partnering closely with design teams and a strong ability to articulate product preferences, user needs, and tradeoffs
• Experience balancing multiple stakeholder needs while maintaining a clear point of view about what is best for the user and product
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bring people along when the answer or path forward isn't immediately obvious
• Get energized when someone says, "We don't know exactly how we're going to do this yet."
• Can balance what users want, what partners need, and what the business requires
• Know that moving fast doesn't mean rushing
• Have strong opinions, loosely held
• Think the best part of product management is figuring out what to build next
• Enjoy creating structure where there currently isn't any
• Are comfortable being wrong, as long as you learn quickly. (We call this the ‘Roomba’ mentality - hit a wall and find a new way forward)
• Can make progress without waiting for perfect information
