Manager of Technical Accounting (Global)

Recurrent Energy is seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting to join its Global Finance team. This individual will be responsible for U.S. GAAP technical accounting research and analysis, as well as providing accounting and financial reporting support to the North America region. The role requires collaboration with various teams across the organization and involves technical accounting research, regional accounting support, cross-functional partnership, training, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience in the energy or renewable energy industry, and a U.S. or Canadian CPA designation.

• Lead U.S. GAAP technical accounting research on complex matters related to the renewable energy business, and prepare clear, comprehensive technical accounting memos.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the accounting implications of new transactions and initiatives prior to execution, and support accounting-related due diligence requests.
• Develop technical accounting training materials for the broader Finance organization and non-finance stakeholders, and promote technical excellence within the technical accounting function.

• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
• Experience within the energy, renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction industries preferred
• Ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across functions, regions, and organizational levels
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and SAP preferred
• Big Four public accounting experience preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in technical accounting and/or financial reporting
• U.S. or Canadian CPA designation required
• Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, and entrepreneurial environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Comfortable balancing technical accounting responsibilities with hands-on financial reporting support
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in resolving complex accounting matters
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Strong technical accounting writing skills, including experience preparing formal accounting position papers and memos
• Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated ability to research and interpret complex accounting guidance
