Job Description
Join Grow, a mental health startup, as a Software Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. Over 12 weeks, you'll work on a scoped project that addresses a real client, provider, or business need. You'll contribute to the technical approach and production code, work cross-functionally, and ship a solution with meaningful impact. You'll receive support from a dedicated engineer mentor and engineering manager, participate in technical learning and networking, and help shape the program for future interns.
- Participate in planning, stand-ups, code reviews, demos, and retrospectives as a member of a product team.
- Investigate bugs, evaluate tradeoffs, and use data and customer context to improve your solution.
- Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and learnings throughout the internship.
- You’re building a strong technical foundation: You’re currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date of Fall 2027 or Spring 2028. Through coursework or hands-on experience, you’ve developed familiarity with data structures, algorithms, software design, and at least one general-purpose programming language. Experience with Python, TypeScript, React, or similar technologies is helpful but not required
- You show potential through practice: You’ve applied your skills through projects, research, hackathons, open-source contributions, student organizations, an internship or co-op, or other hands-on experiences
- You bring a high bar and high care: You value quality and attention to detail while treating teammates with kindness, honesty, and respect
- You use AI tools with judgment: You’re comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to generate, debug, and verify code while thinking critically about correctness, privacy, security, and impact. (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar)
- You build for the people we serve: You stay close to client, provider, and health-plan needs and bring urgency to work that can improve access to mental healthcare
- Research shows that some groups hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. If you’re excited about this role but don’t check every box, we encourage you to apply. At Grow, we value diverse experiences, transferable skills, and the unique strengths each person brings
