Manager of Software Engineering (League of Legends, Alternate Play Modes)

Join Riot Games as a Manager of Software Engineering for League of Legends' Alternate Play Modes. In this role, you will lead a small group of engineers, contribute to implementation, and collaborate with product managers, designers, and artists. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager and work in a hybrid environment from the Los Angeles office.

• Lead and contribute to an engineering pod that delivers new game modes to the League ecosystem.
• Manage a small group of engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and career support while upholding engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and artists to deliver meaningful changes to the list of rotating game modes.

• 2+ years in engineering management or a tech lead role in game development
• Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with large, complex codebases

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities while remaining actively hands-on with coding
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Proven track record of building and shipping UI/UX features in games or player-facing gameplay systems
