Test Automation Engineer

Join Figure, a cutting-edge robotics company, as a Test Automation Engineer. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain automated testing infrastructure for our humanoid robot. You will have full end-to-end ownership of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test systems, develop Python-based frameworks, and integrate test automation into continuous integration workflows. You will collaborate with various teams, diagnose and debug test failures, and contribute to the design of scalable test frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of firmware-hardware interaction, experience in test automation or embedded systems validation, and proficiency in Python and Linux-based development.

• Design, build, and maintain automated testing infrastructure for CI, Hardware in the Loop (HIL), and system-level validation environments.
• Develop test frameworks, pipelines, and tooling that power regression testing and continuous integration for the humanoid robot.
• Collaborate with Systems Integration, Firmware, and Software teams to define test coverage, interface contracts, and validation flows.

• Strong understanding of firmware–hardware interaction (I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, ADC, GPIO, Ethernet)
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or TeamCity)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience with Pytest, Robot Framework, or custom automation frameworks
• 3–5 years of experience in test automation or embedded systems validation
• Proficiency with Python for test automation, scripting, and data processing
• Proficiency in Linux-based development and command-line tools
• Exposure to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments or simulation systems
• Familiarity with board-level validation, power sequencing, and sensor testing
• Background in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other complex mechatronic systems
• Proficiency with lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DAQs)
