Corporate Development Director

Join Fandom as a Corporate Development Director, where you will play a key role in driving the corporate development lifecycle, managing all stages of evaluation, diligence, and workflow processes that lead to acquisition, partnership, and divestiture. You will report to the CFO/COO and work closely with senior leaders to inform and support the overall strategy by identifying industry trends and maintaining strong relationships with startups, entrepreneurs, VCs, PE funds, bankers, and strategics.

• Develop industry landscapes and competitive analyses for board/executive level review, and analyze industry trends to identify potential acquisition targets.
• Independently build financial models and forecasts for potential acquisition targets to inform valuation and budgetary needs, and work with the CFO/COO on deal sourcing, qualification, initial rationale/pitch, financial modeling, due diligence and deal closing activities.
• Manage data room and distribution of materials to appropriate parties, act as primary contact for diligence requests, and direct diligence efforts between internal and external parties.

• Expertise in building financial and valuation models
• Independently build financial models and forecasts for potential acquisition targets to inform valuation and budgetary needs
• Work with the CFO/COO on deal sourcing, qualification, initial rationale/pitch, financial modeling, due diligence and deal closing activities
• Experiment with different types of business models and translate them into a detailed operating model
• Analyze diligence data and create board/executive level presentations
• 2+ years of investment banking, 3+ years of corporate development and/or private equity experience
• Manage data room and distribution of materials to appropriate parties, act as primary contact for diligence requests
• Experience working on M&A transactions of different sizes, from acqui-hires and asset-only purchases to full company purchase and integration
• Direct diligence efforts between internal and external parties
• Sound judgment, sharp analytical skills, excellent written communication skills, strong verbal and presentation capabilities
• Be comfortable working with limited information to create low/base/high scenario analyses
• Must-Have skills: Excel (can build and maintain complex spreadsheets) and Google Sheets, PowerPoint and Google Slides, comfortable working with AI (Claude) to build automated workflows, memos and financial models
• Experience working in or with gaming, entertainment, digital media or internet services industries
• Experience navigating organizations with a matrix company structure
• Have strong affinity towards gaming and/or entertainment
