Software Engineer (iOS, Level 5)

Join Snap Inc. as a Level 5 Software Engineer (iOS) and be part of a team that creates and refines high-performance mobile apps. You will design, architect, and implement well-tested Objective-C software that powers experiences in Snapchat's camera. You will also conceptualize, develop, and launch new features, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and work with the Design team to ensure the best UI and infrastructure practices. Additionally, you will carry out code reviews to guarantee code quality and utilize AI tools to design and ship scalable services.

• Knowledge of the OS internals, compilers, optimization for low-power and mobile systems
• Proven understanding of Objective-C Runtime and processes which run “under the hood”
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
• Strong CS fundamentals (algorithms and data structures) and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in, or a strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with the critical judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks
• Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of engineering trends and modern development practices
• Experience with iOS application development
• Proficiency with multithreading and performance optimization techniques for iOS
• 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or Master’s degree in a technical field + 5+ year of post-grad software development experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field +2+ years of post-grad software development experience
• Knowledge of software design patterns and iOS best practices
• Experience with Objective-C and iOS
• Experience with Swift
• Experience with C/C++
• Experience with OpenGL or Metal
