Job Description

Join Robinhood as a Backend Software Engineer (Web3) and play a key role in building and owning backend services, infrastructure, and data systems that support the company's next-generation crypto, web3, and wallet offerings. You will develop innovative solutions to deliver a best-in-class trading experience for cryptocurrencies and tokenized assets, while solving complex scalability and correctness challenges. You will collaborate closely with product, compliance, client, platform teams, and external partners to deliver impactful technical solutions.

  • Design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services and infrastructure across Robinhood Wallet, Tokenization, and Web3 platform systems, ensuring correctness and auditability.
  • Build the connective tissue between traditional market infrastructure (brokerage, ledgers, corporate actions) and on-chain systems, including smart contract integrations, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows.
  • Collaborate closely with product, compliance, client, platform teams, and external partners to deliver impactful technical solutions, demonstrating strong ownership and a track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  • Strong ownership mindset, with a track record of delivering high-quality projects end to end in cross-functional environments and raising team-wide technical standards
  • Interest in blockchain fundamentals—EVM, smart contracts, wallets, on-chain settlement—or a strong appetite to go deep quickly
  • Proven ability to simplify complex problems, make sound tradeoffs, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders
  • Expertise in backend development using languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with a solid grasp of cloud-native architectures
  • 2+ years of experience in software development
  • Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals
  • Care for correctness-critical systems—idempotency, reconciliation, and reasoning carefully about failure modes when money is at stake
