Controller

Join Notabene, a rapidly growing company in the digital asset space. As the Controller, you will own the external financial statement audit process, manage the close and accounting policy for a multi-entity, multi-currency business, and be the most senior accounting voice in the company. You will report to the VP of Finance and have one direct report. This is a remote position with flexible work options and a range of benefits.

• Ownership of the external financial statement audit process, including readiness assessment, remediation plan, and auditor relationship.
• Management of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities, producing GAAP financial statements and consolidations.
• Development and implementation of accounting policies and controls, including revenue recognition, payroll allocation, and software development capitalization.

• Month-end close ownership across two or more legal entities in different currencies
• You operate in the detail. You build the calendar, do the reconciliations, and touch the ledger
• Experience developing a small team or a single direct report
• Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager at a venture-backed company, with a track record of raising the standard on process rather than just running what exists
• You have taken a company through a first external audit and can describe specifically what broke and what you did about it
• Deep, hands-on ASC 606, applied to at least one revenue model without clean precedent, and defended to an auditor
• Active CPA license
• Public accounting background, especially audit
• Usage-based or consumption billing experience, particularly Tabs, Metronome, Maxio, or similar
• Experience replacing manual accounting work with automation, and a clear view on what should stay manual
• Software development capitalization under ASC 350-40, including the time capture that makes it auditable
• Swiss entity experience, including CHF functional currency and Swiss statutory or VAT exposure
• Digital assets, payments, or regulated financial services exposure
