Member of Technical Staff (Envoy Response)

Join Envoy, a company dedicated to helping organizations protect their people and communicate effectively during critical situations. As a Senior Fullstack Engineer on the Response team, you will work on impactful products, including the Threat Intelligence platform and Emergency Notifications platform. This is a backend-focused fullstack role, requiring strong backend fundamentals and the ability to take end-to-end ownership of the products you build. The position is on-site in San Francisco, requiring four days a week in the office.

• 7+ years of experience building and operating production software, with strong backend engineering expertise and experience working across the full stack
• A BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Experience driving technical projects independently, navigating ambiguity, and collaborating across Engineering, Product, and Design
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems, microservices, and APIs, with a solid understanding of system architecture and engineering tradeoffs
• Experience with asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures, or messaging systems such as Kafka
• A strong product mindset and the ability to balance technical excellence with delivering meaningful customer value
• Strong programming fundamentals and experience building backend services using languages such as Kotlin, or Java
• Working proficiency with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, and the ability to independently build and ship frontend features
• Experience with relational databases such as Postgres, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance considerations
• Experience building AI-powered applications or integrating LLMs into production systems
• Experience with geospatial data, real-time alerting, or mission-critical communication systems
• Experience with high-throughput data pipelines, stream processing, or search technologies such as OpenSearch
