Product Designer (Player Experiences)

Join Discord, a platform with millions of daily active users, as a Product Designer focused on player experiences. You'll work on enhancing the player-facing side of studio integrations, designing features like friend invites and game presence. Your work will span various surfaces, including in-game overlays, the Discord client, and Discord mobile. You'll collaborate with a team of designers, engineers, product managers, and data scientists, and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the gaming community.

• Design player-facing features like friend invites, game presence, and shareable game moments, ensuring quality across desktop and mobile surfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype, playtest, and iterate on designs, incorporating feedback from players and stakeholders.
• Produce comprehensive design documentation and interactive prototypes, keeping them up to date as decisions evolve, to support engineering and product partners.

• An ownership mindset with a bias toward action, helping to drive projects and decisions forward
• Experience working within a design system, and contributing back to it
• Ability to communicate complex problems and experiences simply, and to know when a user journey, wireframe, deck, prototype, or design specification will be most effective in doing so
• A high craft bar and attention to detail in user experience, visual design, interaction design, and prototyping, with proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools to demonstrate interaction, functionality, and flows
• Experience designing consumer-facing mobile features specifically (not just responsive web), including familiarity with mobile platform conventions and constraints (iOS/Android)
• 2+ years of experience designing and shipping a web/app product for a variety of devices and platforms
• Experience designing for mature products, both against a vision and through incremental improvements
• Casual or committed gamer, on mobile and PC
• Experience designing mobile-first experiences
