Senior Accountant (Lease Accounting)

In this role, you will manage lease accounting operations from start to finish, applying ASC 842 to various non-standard lease agreements. You will work closely with multiple departments, support quarterly disclosures and external audits, and drive process improvements. • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field,
• Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining accounting to non-accountants
• Experience with complex or non-standard lease agreements, not only standard real estate leases
• Experience with a lease accounting system (LeaseQuery preferred; LeaseAccelerator, CoStar, or similar)
• Working knowledge of lease classification, modifications, remeasurement, and discount rate concepts
• 4-7 years of accounting experience, including at least 1-2 years of hands-on ASC 842 lease accounting
• Strong month-end close and reconciliation discipline in a public or public-ready environment
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with large data sets
• CPA or CPA-eligible
• Big 4 or public accounting experience, or experience at a high-growth technology or infrastructure company
• Experience with build-to-suit, powered shell, colocation, or ground lease structures
• Exposure to data center, energy, real estate development, or other capital-intensive industries
• Familiarity with an ERP such as NetSuite or Sage Intacct, FloQast, and SOX controls
