Senior Legal Counsel

Join our team as a Senior Legal Counsel, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product-led strategy. You will provide legal and regulatory support to our sales, product, and business leadership teams in the Americas, guide the collection and usage of content and data, and support our Head of Legal in driving our divisional strategic objectives. This is an outstanding opportunity to influence key decisions that directly impact our products, services, and strategic direction.

• Support product-led transformation initiatives for the Legal & Compliance function in the Americas.
• Provide legal and regulatory support to the sales, product, and business leadership teams in the Americas.
• Guide the collection, usage, and licensing of content, data, and news, and respond to legal inquiries that may relate to disputes, regulatory and/or compliance considerations.

• Success in providing legal guidance on ad-hoc and strategy-led projects e.g. Artificial Intelligence (AI) related governance framework, including LSEG’s Responsible AI principles and AI Intake/Huddle processes or eCommerce and digital contracting, including data sales on technology marketplaces or B2C strategy
• Sharp attention to detail, the ability to independently handle projects and deadlines, and excellent interpersonal skills to build strong, trusted, and effective working relationships with key internal and external customers across different functions and cultures
• Thrives in a fast-paced international environment, and excel at building bridges and enjoy making a tangible impact
• Outstanding knowledge of multi-jurisdictional contracting requirements and have broad experience and success in partnering with senior stakeholders in complex contract negotiation, particularly with our Americas based Key Strategic Accounts, and our LSEG Data Access construct and contracting framework. Excellent ability to articulate legal concepts clearly and concisely, excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Qualified to practice in the US (NY Bar preferred) and have a law degree from an accredited law school
