Staff Product Designer (Visual Design & Systems, Autonomous Recruiting)

Join Handshake, a company dedicated to reimagining the recruiting and hiring process through an AI-native product. As a Staff Product Designer, you will set the visual and interaction quality for the product, own the design system, and collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data teams. You will have the opportunity to shape the visual language of the product and raise the craft bar for the entire Employer design team.

• Exceptional visual craft, with typography, spacing, color, hierarchy, and density visibly strong across shipped work, including edge states
• Taste you can explain and teach, and a track record of raising the quality of work beyond your own team
• Fluent in code or close to it, and invested in shipped UI matching the design
• Experience owning or leading a design system, with good judgment about when to use, extend, or break from it
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change, and excited to build something from scratch
• Strong product thinking and a bias toward simplicity
• 8+ years of product design experience, with a track record of setting the visual direction for a shipped B2B or prosumer product
• Strong interaction and motion sense
• Experience designing for an AI-native product, with real thinking about chat, composer, and agent interaction patterns
