Hybrid Contract Senior
Job Description

Satellit is seeking an experienced .NET developer with Java know-how to join a multi-disciplinary team delivering digital identity and authentication capabilities for a major energy-sector engagement. The role involves building, validating and documenting reusable authentication/authorization components, contributing to deployment automation, collaborating with IT stakeholders, and participating in agile squad activities. This position follows a hybrid work model with an expectation of being on-site about two days per week and is planned to start in the mid-October to mid-November timeframe.

Full-time commitment is required.

Who are you?

What will you do? Design, implement, unit-test and document libraries, services or components that handle user authentication and authorization. Create example applications and code samples to illustrate how to integrate identity and access services into new or existing systems, and communicate these to engineering teams.

Customize and extend commercial or open-source products (for example access managers, authorization engines, API gateways, reverse proxies and directory services) and produce supporting documentation for those extensions. Improve and automate continuous integration and continuous delivery workflows, including configuration and release automation. Work closely with IT and application teams to identify integration points, diagnose issues, and resolve problems when connecting to identity fabric services.

Install and configure third-party and open-source components by following technical guides and producing any required deployment notes. Take part in squad sprint activities, including planning, execution and retrospective work. Own assigned backlog items, drive tasks to completion and report progress to the squad.

Prepare for and actively participate in meetings and workshops, tracking actions and follow-ups. Propose technical solutions that align with requirements and constraints, present them to stakeholders and refine based on feedback. Continuously acquire new technical knowledge, standards and tooling needed to fulfill assigned work.

Proven experience with C# and the .NET ecosystem in a production environment. Practical knowledge of Java and familiarity with interoperation between Java and .NET components. Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON and YAML configurations.

Hands-on skills with front-end technologies such as JavaScript and frameworks like Vue.js or Blazor. Understanding of directory services and authentication protocols (LDAP, OAuth2, OpenID Connect). Solid grasp of web security fundamentals including HTTPS, cookies, CORS, single sign-on and multifactor concepts.

Familiarity with cryptographic basics including symmetric and asymmetric key usage, hashing and keystore concepts. Experience deploying and operating containerized applications and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (experience with managed clusters a plus). Comfortable using Git and participating in DevOps practices for source control and delivery pipelines.

Database experience, for instance with SQL Server or similar relational databases. Nice-to-have: TypeScript, PowerShell, Bash scripting, React, SAML2, PKI experience, and familiarity with identity provider solutions (for example Keycloak, Ping, Okta, ADFS, or cloud identity services).

Experience designing or operating microservices-based systems is an advantage. Strong interpersonal and soft skills: pragmatic problem-solving, autonomy, adaptability, resilience, clear communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to document and present technical work. Language requirements: good command of Dutch and/or French, plus English for technical collaboration.
